this is the stuff i\'ve been working on recently. It\'s semi-difficult, but really gets your coordination going. this is a rock beat in 7/4 that sounds decent. H|xxX-xxX-xxX-xx|X-xxX-xxX-xxX-| (the hi-hat is a constant motion) S|----o------o--|----o------o--| B|o-------o-----|o-------o-----| 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+ 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+ based on the techniques from this exercise, i made i really sick beat in 4/4. it sounds godly when played at a moderate tempo. H|xxx-xxx-xxX-xxX-| S|----o-------o---| B|o--o-o-o-oo-----| you can stick in the base drum pattern from any beat and play with this hi-hat pattern, and it sounds really funky. julius
