This is basically a set of variations on the simple shuffle beat (3/4): H|x--x|x--x|x--x|x--x|x--x| S|----|----|x---|----|x---| B|----|x---|----|x---|----| The first variation is good practise to get ur left hand and right hand coordination. g = ghost notes b = Ride bell R|b--x|b--x|b--x|b--x|b--x| S|---g|g--g|x--g|g--g|x---| B|----|x---|x---|x---|x---| The second beat would be more bass orientated H|x--x|x--x|x--x|x--x|x--x| S|----|----|x---|----|x---| B|---x|x--x|---x|x--x|---x| Basically u just keep repeating that for better bass control. Another exercise which is good for this is basically the same, but with less notes on the hihat.
