29 Mile Wind

Artist - Chokebore
Album - Clusterfuck '93
Song - 29 Mile Wind
Year - 1993
Guitarist - Troy Von Balthazar/Jonathan Kroll
Tabber - Alowishus
Date - 06/04/2013

This song to the best of my knowledge only appears on this compilation. It's a fairly
short song but still has a few parts.
The song is in standard tuning. Chokebore has two guitarists but this song really only
uses one guitar with one exception being the second verse, however the second guitar is
not needed.
This is also kind of an unusual song as it seems to follow: intro-verse-bridge-verse and
that is the whole song.

Intro - Okay the intro is feedback. It's based around 6th fret (Bb) on low E.

e|-------|
B|-------|
G|-------|
D|-------|
A|-------|
E|--6~~~~|

Verse - Then the main riff. For the first part, think of E chord shape.
Also you should probably insert muted strings as you transition between the different
chords. If you listen to the song it will make sense.

"...people I know have got real strange..."
e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------4-4-4-4----------|
D|----5-----5-------5------4-4-4-4--4-4-4-4-|
A|-6--6--6--6----6--6--6---2-2-2-2--4-4-4-4-|
E|-6-----6-------6-----6------------2-2-2-2-|

This is played continuously until the final time when the following C5 is added onto the end:

B|------|
G|--5~--|
D|--5~--|
A|--3~--|
E|------|

This serves as the entrance to the bridge. Let this chord ring.
The bass then comes to the forefront - there is no guitar played in the bridge apart
from the C5 sustaining.
The guitar fades out and then it goes back to the main riff/verse:

e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------4-4-4-4----------|
D|----5-----5-------5------4-4-4-4--4-4-4-4-|
A|-6--6--6--6----6--6--6---2-2-2-2--4-4-4-4-|
E|-6-----6-------6-----6------------2-2-2-2-|

This is the only part where there seems to be two guitars. The main riff/verse is the
only riff in the whole song. However there does seem to be other parts laid over the main
riff by possibly a second guitar.

There are some harmonics which can be heard though these may be struck from by the first
guitar as it is playing muted strings:

B|--<7>--|
G|--<7>--|
D|--<7>--|
A|-------|
E|-------|

The only part that I can ascertain as actually being another guitar is the following.
Guitar 1 is included for clarity. Guitar 1 plays the main riff/verse while Guitar 2 plays
the following part simultaneously.

Guitar 1
e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------4-4-4-4----------|
D|----5-----5-------5------4-4-4-4--4-4-4-4-|
A|-6--6--6--6----6--6--6---2-2-2-2--4-4-4-4-|
E|-6-----6-------6-----6------------2-2-2-2-|

Guitar 2
e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
D|----5-----5-------5-----------------------|
A|-6--6--6--6----6--6--6~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-|
E|-6-----6-------6--------------------------|

Guitar 2 lets Eb ring out as Guitar 1 plays B5 and Gb5.

The song then ends on the following chord with the Eb again descending into feedback:

e|-----------|
B|-----------|
G|-----------|
D|-5---------|
A|-6~~~~~~~~-|
E|-6---------|

That's the end!
