Heart Shaped Stone

Freddie Stevenson ~ Heart Shaped Stone

Tabbed by ~Coxy~.

From his first album, Body On The Line.

Deceptively simple song that I spent ages trying to figure out.
Once I'd finally deciphered the odd tuning it's in (a hallmark of
a lot of Freddie's stuff) it fell together quite easily. Enjoy, it's a beautiful song.

Tuning: CGCGBD (variation of Open C)

Drop the low E down 2 tones to a C
Drop the A and D strings down a tone
Leave G and B strings as they are
Drop the high E down a tone

Capo at 5th to put it in the key of C

Chords used: No idea what their actual names are, I'm just going for
the closest standard chord/root.

C x02010
Am 4x4010
F x54500
G x76700
Am* x97900
E x43400

C
I am on my way
                      Am
In the softly falling rain
                        F
My head is full of dreams
And I am ready to start again

Through the nights and days
Down the twisting paths and vast highways
My imagination strives
To define what it craves

In a hilltop town
The sun or moon is shining down
On ancient cobbled streets
Through the dancing dust of the centuries

On a distant shore
I can hear the restless ocean roar
And it sounds like a reply
To something there is no question for

         G Am* E F
And I am oh such a long way from home
                               G C
With nothing in my pocket but a heart shaped stone

And in Malibu
I begin to grasp a sense of you
As me & David watch the sun
Dissolve like ink into the ocean

And we walked away
Through the fringes of the dying day
And I was looking for a word
But there is nothing left to say

Except I am oh such a long way from home
                                G Am*
With nothing in my pocket but a heart shaped stone
