None of them
Hello guys, this is my first post here :). So Tim Mcilrath plays this song in E flat tuning and he sings a whole octave higher - he actually reaches tones from 3 octaves. Sadly I have a limited vocal range so I I had to use a capo and sing in the same octave as the guitar but this way the sound is not that rich. So I moved the key of the song not by putting a capo but by changing the chords so that I can sing one octave higher than the guitar without reaching my limits. I guess this won't work for every song but in this it goes pretty well. Anyway.. Chords used: A: C#m: D: E: F#m: e-0 e-4 e-2 e-0 e-2 B-2 B-5 B-3 B-0 B-2 G-2 G-6 G-2 G-1 G-2 D-2 D-6 D-0 D-2 D-4 A-0 A-4 A-x A-2 A-4 E-0 E-4 E-x E-0 E-2 E A C#m He said "Son, have you seen the world? D A Well, what would you say if I said that you could? D A Just carry this gun , you'll even get paid." E I said "That sounds pretty good." A Black leather boots C#m Spit-shined so bright D A They cut off my hair but it looked alright D We marched and we sang A We all became friends E As we learned how to fight F#m A hero of war D Yeah that's what I'll be A And when I come home E They'll be damn proud of me F#m I'll carry this flag D To the grave if I must A Cause it's a flag that I love E And a flag that I trust A I kicked in the door C#m I yelled my commands D The children, they cried A But I got my man D We took him away A A bag over his face E From his family and his friends A They took off his clothes C#m They pissed in his hands D I told them to stop A But then I joined in D We beat him with guns A And batons not just once E But again and again F#m A hero of war D Yeah that's what I'll be A And when I come home E They'll be damn proud of me F#m I'll carry this flag D To the grave if I must A Because it's a flag that I love E And a flag that I trust A C#m She walked through bullets and haze D I asked her to stop A I begged her to stay D But she pressed on A So I lifted my gun E And I fired away A C#m The shells jumped through the smoke D And into the sand A That the blood now had soaked D A She collapsed with a flag in her hand E A flag white as snow F#m A hero of war D Is that what they see A Just medals and scars E So damn proud of me F#m And I brought home that flag D Now it gathers dust A But it's a flag that I love E It's the only flag I trust E A C#m He said "Son, have you seen the world? D A Well, what would you say if I said that you could? I think its essential for this song that the guitar is an octave lower that the voice so this way is better than a capo, hope you like it :)
