Chasing The Wild Goose

Capo on 5

You'll need to know:
G - C - Am - D

When played on an acoustic, this can become a very mellow tune. You can strum however
you like, but it has an upbeat rhythm naturally.

In the transition from verse to chorus to verse, keep strumming G in time with the song,
but just before the lead into the next part, you'll hit a quick C - D and then back to
G. Each note of the transition, C-D, are only played for one beat. You can do this for
each transition if you like, just to keep the feel of the old style. This is really the
most complicated part, once you figure out how you want to strum it.

Last note: The Am isn't perfect for this song. I don't have enough musical vocabulary to
figure that one out on my own, but it's close enough that you can sing with it. If you
have a correction, let me know and I'll update.

Capo on 5

G C G
There was a man who banged his head against a wall
G C G
He banged for 20 years, but the damn thing wouldnt fall
G
He left an honest life
C
He left a broken wife
G C G
He left it all behind, just to see what he could find

G....... C-D

G C G
Millions and millions chase the wild goose tonight
G C G
To conquer loneliness theyll chase it all their lives
G C G
And when they find it they can just lay down and die
              Am D C G
It seems the game is mostly pointless in the presence of the prize.

G.......C-D

G C G
There was a woman who had a man as cold as ice
G C G
He built four walls so strong and he kept her locked inside
G
She harbored loneliness
C
Her husband couldnt guess
G
That shed take off her dress
C
And kill herself without a mess.

G....... C-D

G C G
Millions and millions chase the wild goose tonight
G C G
To conquer loneliness theyll chase it all their lives
G C G
And when they find it they can just lay down and die
              Am D C G
It seems the game is mostly pointless in the presence of the prize.
