Intermediate - Learning How To Drum - Pviii

I had to, once again, shorten the name of the lessons because they wont fit, so when
these lessons go to expert, theyll go back to normal
I have been talking about this lesson for a long time, and it is fills. Here you will
learn not just what they are, but you will (or should) learn to make your own. Since
Fills are made up by people and are usually all different, theres not much explaining
to do.

PART VIII
Fills

I\'m just going to put a basic beat, and you can add you own fill at the end. These 
are two EXAMPLES of what the fills look like, or ideas of making some new ones.

Notice that the fills arnt always within the regualar 16th note time (or how the
last part of the tab sticks out more). And that is Okay as long as you stay on time.
Even hitting the one extra drum once and then the cymbal (which signls you to start
 over) can throw you off track. This next part is the same thing, but the fill is 2x
longer.

Remember that these are examples. just fool around with the drums in your fills,
and you might find something really cool. and the basic beat at the beginning, fool
around with that too. Add ghost strokes, extra bass, whatever! But timing is critical
here, especially in your fills. Although your fills dont have to stay on time, they
cant end a second to soon or too late at the end. If you like Queens of the Stone Age
, then listen to their songs like No One Knows or Go with the Flow. The refrains are
full of fills, although their the same, they are still fills to get some ideas from.
