The Promised Land Acoustic

The Promised Land (acoustic version) - Bruce Springsteen

This is the chords for the acoustic version of "The Promised Land", a masterpiece version he made due to
the ONE's Agit8 campaign in 2013. The chords for this version aren't posted anywhere on the internet, so
I figured it out myself. Please contact me ([email protected]) if you have any questions.

Tips: It's better to use your tumb to cover the top strings when you play the chords Fmaj and F6. You can
also play the Fadd11 chord with your thumb on the top string, but Bruce uses his ring finger to press do
wn the top E string. Please take a look at the video from this performance to see the way he plays it!

Enjoy strumming!

Driving 'cross the Waynesboro county line

Working all day in my Daddy's garage
F6 Gm7
Driving all night, chasing some mirage

The dogs on main street howl 'cause they understand

If I could take one moment into my hands
                       Fadd11
Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man
    F6 Fadd11
And I believe in a promised land

Fmaj (with harp) (couple of times)

I've done my best to live the right way

F6 Fmaj
Explode and tear this whole town apart

Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart

Find somebody itching for something to start

If I could take one moment into my hands
                       Fadd11
Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man
    F6 Fadd11
And I believe in a promised land

Fmaj F6
There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor
fadd11
I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm
Fmaj F6
Gonna be a twister to blow everything down
           fadd11
That ain't got the faith to stand it's ground

F6 Fmaj
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
F6 Fmaj
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
F6
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing
fadd11 C7sus4
But lost and brokenhearted

Fmaj Fadd11
The dogs on main street howl 'cause they understand
F6 Fmaj

Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man
    F6 Fadd11
And I believe in a promised land
