Get Your Own - Dean Lickyer

Always wanted to be in a classic rock band.... seems I missed the boat. Never wrote any
before but though it would be sick to write one to get people started for this up and
band. Happy to contribute

It would be far too time consuming to write out rhythms and number of times each chord
strummed.

The guitarist Sean does a few things that are pretty familiar with anyone who has played
rhythm guitar.

'strumming 5th to 6th chords', aka: this is for C chord on the A string
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-5-5-7-7-5-7-5-7----------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3----------------------------------------------------------------| ect.
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

often also strumming mostly the power chord part of barre chords but fretting the entire
and adding jazz notes
'strumming 5th to 6th chords', aka: this is for C chord on the A string ie. The note I
I can hear him adding is the 4th.... or i suppose 11th?

e|-------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------5-5-5-6-6----------------10-10-11-11-------10-10-------|
G|------5-5-5-5-5----------------10-10-10-10-------10-10-------|

A|--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3------8---8--8--8--8---8--8--8--8--8---8--|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------|

Tuning: Standard
Intro Lick
e|------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-3-3-4-5-7-8\7-5-5-5-8-8-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-xx8-xx8-xx8-xx8--|
A|-1-1-2-3-3-3---3-3-3-6-6-8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--xx6-xx6-xx6-xx6--|
E|------------------------------------------------------------------|

Verse seems to be entirely C5-6-b7 and F5-6-b7 chord jamms for the first time through
by the more full chord with 11th added here and there like

e|------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
D|-5-7-5-5-7-8\7-5-5-10-10-12-10-13-12-10---|
A|-3-3-3-3-3-3----3-3-8--8--8--8--8--8---8--|
E|------------------------------------------|
followed by
e|--------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------------------|
D|-5-7-5-5-7-8\7-5-5-10-10-13-13------------1-0-----|
A|-3-3-3-3-3-3----3-3-8--8--8--8----1-3-1------1-3--|
E|--------------------------------------------------|

followed by something along the lines of C and F again
e|-----------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----5-5-5-6-6-5-5----------------10-10-11-11-11-11-10-10--|
G|------5-5-5-5-5-5-5---------------10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--|
D|--5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5------10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-----|
A|--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-------8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8-----|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------|
But I'm not the kind of fool to count strumming patterns

pre chorus (whatever makes her feel alright) bass is in on this as well
e|-------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--5-5-5----8--5-5-----8----8----8-8--------------------------|
A|--3-3-3-6h8---3-3-6h8--6h8-6h8---6-8-8-8-8-8-8--8-8-8-8-8-8--|
E|------------------------------------------------6-6-6-6-6-6--|

Chorus is CMaj BbMaj and FMaj in that order 'get your own...like this (once again, just
the techniques in the above riffs to get it to sound right (once again rhythm not even
attempt...just play along)
e|--8--8--8--8--8-----6-6-6-6-6-6-6----8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-------------|
B|--8--8--8--8--8-----6-6-6-7-7-7-6----10-10-11-11-10-10-10-11-11-10---|
G|--9--9--9--9--9-----7-7-7-7-7-7-7----10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10---|
D|--10-10-10-10-10----8-8-8-8-8-8-8----10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--10--|
A|--10-10-10-10-10----8-8-8-8-8-8-8----8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8----|
E|--8--8--8--8--8----6-6-6-6-6-6-6-------------------------------------|

Repeat from intro riff

Solo

I was actually going to tab this but the guitarist Sean improvises it live...... which
you probobly should too

He uses a ton of Wah live...and jams in pentatonic... seems to be Fminor Pentatonic up
the 13-18thish frets which makes sense with the chordage

Ending is

e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-10-8-8------3-5-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--8-6-6------1-3-------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Have Fun.... You should be able to learn it from this tab and the Sarnia Bayfest/Studio
on youtube
