Search And Destroy

Search and Destroy Bass line, Iggy and the Stooges.

Here is my interpretation of the brilliant bass line for the song Search and destroy, I believe it was written by Ron Asheton who was playing bass on Raw Power whilst James Williamson played guitar.

It is a change up from Dave Alexanders playing style on Funhouse which was more simplistic but still very bold and catchy.

One of my favourite songs to play simply because of the energy of the stooges, it is quite fast paced and takes some practice to get right, give the song a good listen to for the rhythm.

A small symbol guide:

h= Hammer on
p= Pull-off
bp= Bend then pull-off
X= Muted note/Ghost Note

And that is about it, I tend to play it with my fingers but I think originally it was played with a pick, but it is up to you!

To get the tone right you just need a very round bold punching tone plenty of bass and a little bit of gain to add some balls. Happy Playing!
