Born On Fire Acoustic

Hey all, this is my first tab. Taken from a live performance of Ike Reilly. Just doing it to help myself learn
it and because there are no other tabs for it. This is a fantastic and underrated song used in the feature film
'I am Chris Farley' about the legendary actor and comedian Chris Farley, this song is (I think) dedicated to him
as Reilly and Farley played college rugby together, enjoy!

Standard tuning

~Intro~ - G Am C G

~Verse~

G
You came into the world
                     Am
The day that all the Kings died
                        C
I felt the heat in your heart
                         G
I saw the flames in your eyes
G
For three days and three nights
                         Am
You didn't sleep or even tire
                        C
Yeah, you're gonna burn bright
D G
Cause you were born on fire

G

~Chorus~

G Am
Don't let nobody try to dampen your flame
                C
Try to cool you down
                G
Try to make you change
                  G
Try to steal your heat
             Am
Or mock your desire
                        C
Take your flames to the street
D G
Cause you were born on fire

~Bridge~

Am G
Saw you playing in the ozone
Am G
Juggling all your time bombs
Am C
Skipping through the land mines
        G D C
Made to cut you down
G D C
Cut you down
        G D C C (hold. Pause).
Made to cut you down

~Verse~
(Repeat as above, but quietly and build up)

G
Well I've seen you bleed
                  Am
And I've seen you bruise
                  C
And I've seen you rage
                  G
And I've seen you blue
                        G
But that don't break my heart
                             Am
Like when you look me in the eye
               C
And you ask me questions
                            G
Like where we going when we die
                     G
And who you're gonna love
                     Am
And how you're gonna live
                  C
And will you be a poor one
                     G
Or could I leave you rich
                     G
I can't leave you no money
                     Am
I can't leave you no land
                     C
I can't leave you no faith
                    G
I lost the little I had (<--- Get louder)

                         G
But I can leave you this truth
                   Am
Hold onto hope and desire
                        C
Take your flames to the streets
                       G
Cause you were born on fire (<--- Loudest, Then Stop)

G Am
Bap badda bap
          C
Bap badda bap
          G
Bap badda bap (repeat a couple of times)

Hold C into
~Chorus~

          G
Don't let nobody
                   Am
try to dampen your flame
                C
Try to cool you down
                G
Try to make you change
                  G
Try to steal your heat
             Am
Or mock your desire
                        C
Take your flames to the street
                       G
Cause you were born on fire
                        C
Take your flames to the street
                       G
Cause you were born on fire
                        C
Take your flames to the street
                       G
Cause you were born on fire.

~Fin~
