Wayfaring Stranger

Intro Dm

1st Verse:
Dm
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
          G Dm
Travelin' through this world alone

There is no sickness toil nor danger
              G Dm
In that fair land to which I go

Chorus:
Dm
I'm goin' home to see my mother (2nd chorus says father, 3rd says saviour)
                          Am
I'm goin' home no more to roam
          Dm
I am just goin' over Jordan
          G Am Dm
I am just goin' over home

Dm G Dm G Dm

2nd Verse:
I know dark clouds will hover o'er me
I know my pathway is rough and steep
What golden fields lie out before me
Where weary eyes no more will weap

Chorus:

3rd Verse:
I'll soon be free from every trial
This form shall rest beneath the sun
I'll drop that cross of self denial
And enter in that home with God

Chorus:

This is a pretty simple song done by a lot of people,
but I didn't see Jack White's version in Dm so I wrote it out...
that being said, there is a guy on youtube who calls himself the
Bard of Cornwall and plays a mandolin version that sounds great on
guitar as well and goes like this...

Intro:

Bb Am Dm

1st Verse:
Dm Gm Dm
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
          Gm Dm
Travelin' through this world alone
            F Bb
There is no sickness toil nor danger
              Gm Am Dm
In that fair land to which I go

Chorus:
Dm Gm Dm
I'm goin' home to see my mother (2nd chorus says father, 3rd says saviour)
                          Am
I'm goin' home no more to roam
          Dm Gm Dm
I am just goin' over Jordan
          Bb Am Dm
I am just goin' over home

Bb Am Dm

Same words, and repeat the first verse after the third chorus
followed by the first chours...and as far as I'm concerend you
can swith out the G for a Gm in Jack White's version and it
will still sound sweet..
