That Way Again

Lee Brice - Yesterday's Coffee (That Way Again)

Like a lot of Lee's songs, this one is tuned down a half step on all strings.

A midst the picking, during a few breaks, he plays a riff. Instead of tabbing out the
entire picking sequence, I'll just put the melody here over the chords.

Riff 1: B string: |x x 3 10|x x 3 3/5 0 |
                  | v v^| v v ^ |
                  |G |D/F# |Em

Riff 1 x2

C C/B Am D G (Gsus) G
He used to hold her hand, he used to hold her door.
C C/B Am D G (Gsus) G
She don't know what that feels like anymore.
C D C/B C
Just last night he was sleeping; she kissed his face.
C Dadd4
He said "I gotta work in the morning." and he rolled away.

C G
He used to love her like crazy.
Bm C
You couldn't pull 'em apart.
C Dadd4 G
God, she felt so unbelievable in his arms.
              Em D/F# G G/B C
And now she's catching herself looking down at her ring every now and then.
                C D G
She don't wanna leave; she just needs him to be that way again.

C C/B Am D/F# G (Gsus) G
So this morning she had coffee with a brand new friend.
              C C/B Am D/F# G (Gsus) G
She still had half a cup left when he asked her, "Can I see you again?"
C D G/B C
Well that made her smile like she hadn't smiled in years;
                                       Dadd4
In just a second, that smile turned to tears.

           C/G G
She said, "He used to love me like crazy;
Bm C/G
You couldn't pull us apart.
C/G Dadd4 G
God, I felt so unbelievable in his arms.
        Em D/F# G G/B C
Now I'm catching myself looking down at my ring every now and then."
                                             D G
She don't wanna leave; She just needs him to be that way again.

Am C/B
She left that little café,
                            C
And headed straight to her car,
                  C/B
And picked up her phone
Am C/B Am
And he didn't say, "Hi;" he just said, "Hey, when you gettin' home?"

And she said,
                           G
"You used to love me like crazy;
Bm C/G
You couldn't pull us apart.
C /G Dadd4 G
God, I felt so unbelievable in your arms.
            Em D/F# G G/B Cadd9
But now I'm catching myself looking down at my ring every now and then.
                                          D Em
I don't want to leave; I just need you to be that way again.
                Cadd9 D G
I don't want to leave you; I just need you to be that way again."
