Song title: Au Cinéma
Original Album: Forget EP

Words and Music by Lianne La Havas

NOTES:
Another gorgeous song with a lilting jazz feel...
Although the song has easy chords, the key to the sound is Lianne's finger-
picking, which you just have to practise, I'm afraid.
It's not enough to know the chords; the song has to sway...

VERSE:
Notes:
On the D chord, Lianne picks the 3rd/2nd/3rd string fretted at the 7th fret.
On the Gm7 chord she frets on and off the 2nd string at the 5th fret.

Chords:
D 557775
Gm7 353333
Am(maj7) 576555
                   D
Sometimes when you talk, mm-hmm,
                                             Gm7
And I'm your Betty Boo, and we're singing it close
Like the girls in Belleville rendez-vous
  D
I wish that we could somehow freeze the frame
                   Gm7
But this isn't the silver-screen, oh no,
           Am(maj7) Gm7 Am(maj7)
There's no pause, no re-wind

CHORUS:
D
Time to find out where the story goes,
Sadly too hip with the curtains closed,
Gm7
Watching ourselves au cinéma
D
Taking our positions as the cameras roll,
You'll be the guy, I'll be the girl,
Gm7 Am(maj7)
Watching ourselves au cinéma, cinéma-ah

VERSE:
                  D
Now we cut to the girl, alone
She's found on the Brooklyn Bridge
                   Gm7
And she's truly at home,
Oh, her step has a whole new spring
           D
Big bright lights of the city are shining for her
There's a thirst in her eyes, and her heart,
                           Gm7
'Though she thinks to look back, back, she won't...
           Am(maj7) Gm7 Am(maj7) Gm7 Am(maj7) Gm7 Am(maj7)
There's no pause, no re-wind, no pause, no re-wind

CHORUS:
D
Time to find out where the story goes,
Sadly too hip with the curtains closed,
Gm7
Watching ourselves au cinéma
D
Taking our positions as the cameras roll,
You'll be the guy, I'll be the girl,
Gm7 Am(maj7) Gm7 Am(maj7)
Watching ourselves au cinéma, cinéma-ah

repeat CHORUS: this time play D on "cinéma-ah"

CODA:
Notes:
