Marillion - The Party
=====================

Tabbed by Mike C ([email protected])

Tab Explanation
===============

s       Slide
h       Hammer-on
p       Pull-off
T       Tap
B Bend the note to the fret after the B
R Release back to the originally bent note
A.H.    Artificial Harmonic
m       Palm Muted
// Trem Pick (Pick as fast as possible)

Another great song from Holidays In Eden. I saw this played live recently and
decided to do some tab for it. It's not the most guitar friendly song but still
a quality track. Look out for the trem bar parts during the solo!
==============================
Intro (no guitar)
=====

Verse 1
=======
She bought a bottle of cider
From the shop on the corner
They didn't stop her
Thought she was older

(random bits of whirring guitar over lyrics)

She took a bus ride
To a name and a number
A house full of music
And a hatful of wonder

Chorus (random bits of whirring guitar)
======
And some of the people
That she thought that she knew
Were never like this
When she saw them at school
She's never been anywhere like this before
Everybody's so out of control

Verse 2 (Gtr. 1)
=======
e|-----0-------0-------0---------0h2-0---|
B|-------1-------3-------1-----3-3-----3-|
G|---2-------0-------0-------2-----------|
D|-------------------------0-------------|
A|-0-------2-------3---------------------|
E|---------------------------------------|

She was in a back room
Full of strange aromas
And noises and candles
That was where he found her
He took her to a garden
Full of rain and silence
And she could smell the soil and the trees
And see the succulent light from the little fires in his eyes
Pulling shapes out of the night
She was enchanted

Chorus (Gtr. 1)
======
e|-0-0---0-0---0-0---2-2-|-2~-| (D/E played on last line instead of Bm7)
B|-1-1---3-3---3-3---3-3-|-3~-|
G|-2-2---0-0---0-0---2-2-|-2~-|
D|-3-3---2-2---2-2---4-4-|-2~-|
A|-3-3---2-2---3-3---2-2-|----|
E|-------0-0-------------|----|

Then it's twelve o'clock
And the last bus is gone
They're gonna go crazy
When they hear what she's done
And higher is lower
And less is like more
She's never felt anything like this before,

Outro (no guitar)
=====
And then it was yesterday
He said, "Oh, by the way"
"Welcome to your first party..."
