Cucurucu

Nick Mulvey starts with open strings and then switches to barred chords for
the chorus, and includes some fifths, but to keep it easy I have altered
it to two basic chord progressions; Am Am7 Em D and Am G D B7.

B7 021202
Am x02210
Am7 x02010
Em 022000
D x00232
G 320033
D7 x00212

B7
Softly, in the dusk, a woman is singing to me
Am
She takes me back down the vista of my years, until I see
B7
I see a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Am / / / / / /
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings.

Am7 B
Cucurucu,
Em G

Am Em D
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Am Am7
Softly now in the evening dusk, a woman is singing to me;
         Em D
She takes me back down the vista of my years, until I see

A boy, a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings

Yearning to belong, yearning to belong
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong

In spite of myself, and all of these nursery songs
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong

Am Am7 Em D
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu cucurucu cucurucu

Am G D B7
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Am G D B7
Till the melodies of childish days, are upon, upon me
Am G
And they take me back, back down the river
D B7
They keep leading me on, they lead me to the sea
Am
And all of my manhood is cast,
G D B7
Down in the flood of remembrance, and I weep like a child for the past.

Am Am7 Em D
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu cucurucu cucurucu

Am Am7 Em D
Hmmmmmm Hmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmm Hmmmmm

Am Am7
I see a child underneath the piano, in the boom of the tingling strings
Em D
Pressing the poised feet of his mother who smiles at him as she sings.

Listen to me son, I'll tell you why your father's strong
Cause he can still say every single day, he's yearning to belong

Yearning to belong, yearning to belong
My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong

In spite of myself, and all of these nursery songs
My heart beats with a ceaseless, meets with a peaceless burning to belong

Am Am7 Em D
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu Singing cucurucu cucurucu

Am Am7 Em D D7.....
Singing cucurucu, cucurucu Singing cucurucu cucurucu
