Tabbed by: Tomsus4

A lovely song which a lovely person asked me to tab out

Tuning: Ben Cooper of RF plays this half a step down with a capo on fifth. Personally, I
prefer standard tuning
with a capo on fourth. All down to preference though.

For the record, when I say F#/Dsus2, I mean this:
e:0
B:3
G:2
D:0
A:0
E:2

And F#/Dsus4 is this:
e:3
B:3
G:2
D:0
A:0
E:2

During the riff, however, it sounds better and truer to the song to not play the two
higher strings. They are
played, however, in the instrumental sections every two verses.

    G Em F#/Dsus2
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----0---0------------------0--------4--4--2--0-----------------------------|
D|----0---0-------0-0--------2-------(0)(0)(0)(0)----------------------------|
A|----2-----0p2---2-0--------2-----------------------------------------------|
E|-3------------3--------0------(0)-2----------------------------------------|

G Em F#/Dsus2 G Em
So, I'm writing' you this letter between rests
                   F#/Dsus2 G Em
'cause yesterday a bullet found my chest
                    F#/Dsus2 G C
And I don't got the energy to dress myself
    Em F#/Dsus2 G
And I can't walk without help

    G Em F#/Dsus2
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----0---0------------------0--------4--4--2--0-----------------------------|
D|----0---0-------0-0--------2-------(0)(0)(0)(0)----------------------------|
A|----2-----0p2---2-0--------2-----------------------------------------------|
E|-3------------3--------0------(0)-2----------------------------------------|

    G Em
And now...
                F#/Dsus2 G Em
I can't remember why I joined this war
                    F#/Dsus2 G Em
And I can't tell you what we're fightin' for
                 F#/Dsus2 G C
I guess I wasn't smart enough to see the game
         Em F#/Dsus2 G
And that no one's keepin' score

G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Cadd9

G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Dsus4-D-Dsus4

G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Cadd9

G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Dsus4-D-Dsus4

C(with high e string at 3rd fret) G D

C(with high e string at 3rd fret) D G Important: for this next verse, all
chords are played with
                                               e and B strings at 3rd fret

         Em F#/Dsus4 G Em
And now, you would not believe the things I miss
                    F#/Dsus4 G Em
It's all the little things that fill that list
                       F#/Dsus4
Like playin' with the dogs
             G Cadd9 Em F#/Dsus4 G
And helpin' father chop the wood behind the fence

    G Em F#/Dsus2
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----0---0------------------0--------4--4--2--0-----------------------------|
D|----0---0-------0-0--------2-------(0)(0)(0)(0)----------------------------|

E|-3------------3--------0------(0)-2----------------------------------------|

G Em
Now...
                     F#/Dsus2 G Em
I'm not sure if I'll see another day
                   F#/Dsus2 G Em
The doctor said it could go either way
                 F#/Dsus2
But I just wanted you to know
    G C Em F#/Dsus2
No matter if I sink or fall
    G C Em F#/Dsus2
or blink out in this hospital
     G C
That I'm alright, yeah
Em F#/Dsus2 G Em
I made peace with it all
F#/Dsus2 G Em
Mistakes and all
F#/Dsus2 G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Cadd9
Mistakes and all
              G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Dsus4-D-Dsus4
Mistakes and all
              G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Cadd9
Mistakes and all
              G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Dsus4-D-Dsus4
Mistakes and all

G Cadd9 F#/Dsus4 Cadd9
Ooooh etc.

Ooooh etc.
