This is the live version of Videotape from 2007-present, using IR From The Basement sessions as a reference.

Ed's part comes in the middle of the song with 1/8 note delays. Looping 2 bars at a time,
overdub the following 3 sections over each other. The best finger placement would be to not use a pick,
use your index and pinky for the octaves, and use the ring for the notes in between:

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------10------------12------------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----7------7------11-----9------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------14------------16-----------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----14-----11-----16-----13-----------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------17------------19-----------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----18-----14-----19-----16-----------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Now that all the layers above are looped, here's the full riff cycled through:

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------10------------12------------14------------16--------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----7------7------11-----9-----14-----11-----16-----13--------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------17------------19------------19------------17-------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----18-----14-----19-----16-----19-----16-----18-----14-------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------16------------14-----------12------------10--------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----16-----13-----14-----11-----13-----9------11-----7--------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Last section of the song requires a volume pedal, 1-2 delays (Ed may be using his deluxe memory man for
some modulation or vibrato), whammy to blend in 1 octave above, and a wah pedal.

First, you want to lightly strum the chord with your thumb, focusing on the A, D & G strings,
while slowly bringing up the volume. Once you're at the desired volume, start to swell in the wah slowly.
You want to build up to the point where your thumb strumming harder and focus on the top of the chord and
at that peak you want to have the wah activated all the way. After a few seconds, roll off the wah and start to
strum lighter and focus on the D, G and B strings now, eventually fading out with the volume pedal.

e|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----11---------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|

If you don't have a whammy pedal, hitting the 12th fret on top will mimic the climax of the chord when
you have the fastest strumming and wah is pushed all the way.
e|-----12---------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----11---------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----9----------------------------------------------------------------------|

That's it!
