Fairytale Of Newyork

This was a great song i heard on radio 1 live lounge, by Jonny Borrell (from razorlight)
accompanied by Lisa Moorish. It is a great acoustic version of the Pogues original
and an absolute bugger to tab cos there is no logical repetition. But finally got it
thought i would post it, enjoy............

Intro:
F# G# C#

                  C#
It was christmas eve babe
         F#
In the drunk tank
            C# G#
An old man said to me, wont see another one
              C#
And then he sang a song
              F#
The rare old mountain dew
              C#
I turned my face away
    F# G# C# G#
And dreamed about you

          C#
Got on a lucky one
         F#
Came in eighteen to one
          C#
Ive got a feeling
               G#
This years for me and you
          C#
So happy christmas
            F#
I love you baby
            C#
I can see a better time
      F# G# C#
When all our dreams come true

C# G# C# F#
C# G# F# G#

           C# G#
Theyve got cars big as bars
           A#m F#
Theyve got rivers of gold
         C#
But the wind goes right through you
                      G#
Its no place for the old
         C# A#m
When you first took my hand
     C# F#
On a cold christmas eve
C#
You promised me
            G# C#
Broadway was waiting for me

          C#
You were handsome

You were pretty
                   G#
Queen of new york city
          C# F#
When the band finished playing
      G# C#
They howled out for more
C#
Sinatra was swinging,
                          G#
All the drunks they were singing
     C# F#
We kissed on a corner
        G# C#
Then danced through the night

  F# G#
The boys of the nypd choir
    C# A#
Were singing galway bay
         C# F# G#
And the bells were ringing out
              C#
For christmas day

       C# F# G# C#
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
      C#
You scumbag, you maggot
                 G#
You cheap lousy faggot

And the bells were ringing out
              C# G#
For christmas day

             C#
I could have been someone
              F#
Well so could anyone
              C#
You took my dreams from me
              G#
When I first found you
                     C#
I kept them with me babe
           F#
I put them with my own
             C#
Cant make it all alone
      F# G# C#
Ive built my dreams around you

  F# A#m G#
The boys of the nypd choir
    C# A#m
Were singing galway bay
         C# F# G#
And the bells were ringing out
