The melodica and banjo keep playing that (hang on the E note on the last measure) while 
guitar comes in with an E

After striking the E chord on "roots" the guitar strums muted strings, the banjo plays 
E on upstrokes and the melodica plays the turnaround to the intro

repeat intro riff 3 times and end on E

CHS3: play the CHS section once but play each chord by striking 5
      downstrokes until the B7 and play that with a slow rake
