Body Ash

The Zolas are the best band and this is an awesome song just play it alrighttttt?

Opening & Verse Riff

Rather than splitting the song between two guitars or choosing between playing the riff or the chords,
there is a solution... As you play the chords, simply hammer the 7th onto the C#m and
hammer the 6th onto the Am7, so they look like this:

C#m Am7
My balls are coals in the bottom of our bed
     C#m Am7
That sags with the ash of our passion spent
C#m Am7
I kicked the coals to see if they're still lit
C#m Am7
Oh, how much more can I take of this?
E Asus4 Am E Asus4 Am
I don't know how much more I can take of this

C#m Am7
You get undressed and I watch the show
C#m Am7
You lie beside me but I stay cool
C#m Am7
Then the next morning again we go
C#m Am7
You dress for work and I watch that, too
E Asus4 Am E Asus4 Am
I don't know how much more I can take of this

Bbm A
I know this tunnel will end with light
    C#m A
But I can't see it, I can't see it
Bbm A
Must be a reason to stay polite
    C#m A
But I can't see it, I can't see it
Bbm A C#m
I keep the fire alive in the night
A Bbm A C#m A Bbm A
In the night, in the night, in the night, oh oh oh

C#m A7
I'm sick of sleeping in body ash
C#m A7
Our bed is heaping with body ash
C#m A7
I'm sick of sleeping in body ash
C#m A7
Our bed is heaping with body ash

E D# D C# (single note run-down on A string)

C#m Am7
We go for coffee and comfy chairs
C#m Am7
Your pen is to your lips but I don't stare
    C#m Am7
You lean over the table and between your hair
C#m Am7
I can't pretend that I don't see what's there
C#m (hit)
Sure, sure, I'm a gentleman but this just ain't fair

Bbm A
I know this tunnel will end with light
    C#m A
But I can't see it, I can't see it
Bbm A
Must be a reason to stay polite
    C#m A
But I can't see it, I can't see it
Bbm A C#m
I keep the fire alive in the night
A Bbm A C#m A Bbm A
In the night, in the night, in the night, oh oh oh

C#m A7
I'm sick of sleeping in body ash
C#m A7
Our bed is heaping with body ash
C#m A7
I'm sick of sleeping in body ash
C#m A7
Our bed is heaping with body ash
